JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director Partnerships Development to lead the development and implementation of strategic partnerships initiatives across Southeast Asia. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with higher education institutions and relevant government bodies in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and other key regional markets. You will play a critical role in driving business growth, expanding institutional collaborations, and strengthening our presence across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships:
- Lead and implement a results-driven partnerships strategy across Southeast Asia, aligned with regional revenue and expansion targets, to build and scale high-impact institutional collaborations, with a particular focus on transnational education (TNE) initiatives across diverse partnership models.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue partnership opportunities aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions to establish compliant and high-impact agreements, including but not limited to in-country pathway programme delivery, transnational education (TNE), international student recruitment partnerships, and progression agreements.
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop and sustain strategic relationships with senior university leaders, education authorities, faculty stakeholders, and industry partners across the region.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including product, marketing, sales, admissions, and program management to ensure seamless partnership implementation
- Provide ongoing support and communication to partner institutions to drive successful outcomes
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track key performance indicators and conduct regular reviews of partnership progress and impact
- Prepare timely and accurate reports for senior leadership on partnership activities and outcomes
- Leverage market insights to inform partnership strategies and identify new opportunities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a Master’s degree or other advanced qualification is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or account management.
- An established professional network within the Southeast Asian higher education ecosystem is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels is essential.
- Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing strategic partnerships with universities, education authorities, and other education providers.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the higher education landscape in Southeast Asia, including industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
- Proficiency in one or more Southeast Asian languages (e.g., Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, or Thai) is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, with strong leadership capability and stakeholder influence skills.
