Location: Sheffield, Sheffield International Study Centre

Salary: up to £24,106.00 per annum

The University of Sheffield International College is seeking an academic tutor to teach on our IFY The Built Environment module. The post holder will be part of the College’s Social Science and Humanities Team.  
 

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • The academic tutor will be responsible for teaching The Built Environment, a Level 3 module delivered to groups of international students.  The teaching role includes marking assessments and the provision of feedback to students.  
  • The successful candidate will be competent in the use of IT skills related to teaching, including the use of VLEs.
  • The post holder will also act as a module coordinator and module developer.  This involves leading the teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance procedures, and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date.  The role also requires the creation of both formative and summative assessments.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute in meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and work to deadlines.
     

ABOUT YOU

  • A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape, Urban Studies or a related subject 
  • A PhD or Master’s qualification in Architecture, Landscape, Urban Studies or a related subject (Desirable)
  • Experience of teaching Architecture, Landscape, Urban Studies in UK Higher Education, Further Education or Sixth form, or equivalent teaching experience in a related field 
  • Experience of writing and marking assessments at a minimum of RQF level 3 (A-level/  Foundation level) or equivalent experience
  • Ability to coordinate a team 
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions
