JOB OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of this role comprises of working in a team to support, manage and administer Study Group’s IT infrastructure and cyber security landscape. This purpose will require the role to assist in providing maximum possible up-time for all infrastructure, robust cyber security systems and practices, and ensuring that all users have the necessary access to their required systems. In addition to this is the need for consistent end-user support, administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure across Study Group’s technology stack.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Cyber Security

  • Assist in developing and implementing IT security policies, procedures and standards
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations and standards
  • Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks
IT Infrastructure
  • Work with the global infrastructure team as well as the wider IT Operations team in the local region to assist, guide, or lead campus-based IT administration, support, upgrades, and projects
  • Ensure all core back-office systems and infrastructure under their care are working effectively and efficiently, conforming to global standards and security policies
  • To plan, management and implement a range of IT infrastructure rollouts, upgrades, and projects across the local region
  • Provide innovation and leading-edge technology recommendations and solutions to the business
  • On-going maintenance of local infrastructure including integration of new components, patch management and post-maintenance verification
User Support
  • To provide end-user support for Study Group IT Infrastructure as required
  • Act as a 3rd line support service for the IT Operations team, providing guidance and assistance to the team on support and administration matters, or resolving complex escalations where required
  • Revolves around the use of a Services Desk system to respond to and assist staff members with issues and service requests, ranging from desktop support to account and systems administration
  • Responsibility for oversight of disaster recovery, business continuity, redundancy and maintenance solutions related to the local region’s infrastructure
  • Assist with on-time payment of IT related invoices by assisting with submission of coded invoices to finance or IT management in a timely manner as required
ABOUT YOU
  • At least diploma level IT qualified or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in a cyber security related role is required
  • Proven experience in an infrastructure related role is required
  • VMware knowledge essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Defender. Knowledge of Group Policy, Active Directory, Antivirus/security solutions, and Backup processes
  • Strong networking skills, Ubiquiti networking, Cisco Meraki/Dell S Series preferred
  • Knowledge of Cisco Umbrella desirable
  • Knowledge and experience working with different SAN/storage technologies
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Champion customer service and be capable of influencing cultural change, at both staff and management level in complex environments
  • Highly customer focused, with an understanding of modern service delivery techniques (ITIL knowledge would be an advantage)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work, manage multiple parallel project stages and meet deadlines
  • Documentation skills and the ability to educate and train others.
  • Experience in team management would be desirable.
  • Experience supporting hardware, servers, desktops and laptops, preferably Dell
  • Provide Technology leadership and direction
  • Balance Infrastructure optimisation objectives
