Networks & Security Tutor
Contract type: Variable Hours, Permanent
Location: Teesside University International Study Centre
Salary: up to £38.27 per hour (DOE)
Are you passionate about computing and eager to share your expertise with others? We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Networks & Security Tutor to join our team. As a Networks & Security Tutor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students in their exploration of the dynamic world of technology and computer science.
You will work with colleagues across the Centre to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes on the Computing, Engineering and Science pathway, in line with our teaching, learning and assessment strategy, broader scholarship and aims for an outstanding student experience. You will also contribute directly to student support and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Centre. As a tutor, you will contribute to the design, development and production of teaching and learning materials, across a range of programmes at various RQF levels.
The successful tutor must have experience in Networks and Security.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules.
- Prepare and deliver teaching lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions.
- Write and prepare formative and summative assessments.
- Mark students’ formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including tutorials and writing regular student reports.
- Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
- Notify and liaise with colleagues, where necessary, to ensure all students receive appropriate ongoing welfare and progression support.
- Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session levels, and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
ABOUT YOU
- A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area (e.g Computing, Computer Science or Cyber Security) (Essential)
- A Master’s degree (Desirable for teaching at level 3, Essential for teaching at level 6)
- Relevant Teaching Qualification (Desirable)
- Experience in teaching relevant subject modules in the UK Higher or Further education sector and experience working with international students (Desirable).
