IT Operations Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW
The purpose of this role comprises of working in a team to support, manage and administer Study Group’s
infrastructure, applications and users at the location or locations defined by the responsibility of the role. This
purpose will require the role to assist in providing maximum possible up-time for all infrastructure, and
ensuring that all users have the necessary access to their required systems. The role responds to requests
for support received via the Service Desk and will diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues, as well as
create support and process documentation as required.
ABOUT THE ROLE
User Support- To provide end-user support for Study Group systems at the location at which the role is based. The responsibility revolves around the use of a Service Desk system to respond to and assist staff members with issues and service requests
- The tasks this responsibility encompasses will range from desktop support to account and systems administration. These tasks require not only an in-depth knowledge of IT hardware and software platforms but communication abilities and customer service skills
- Provide end-user support for all Study Group applications, and act as a point of contact and response for end-user issues.
- To assist with support and maintenance of the Server, Networking, Storage and related back office infrastructure within the relevant region/location
- This role will assist with ensuring all core back office systems and infrastructure are working effectively and efficiently, conforming to global standards and security policies
- Urgently responding to alerts from monitoring systems may be necessary at times
- Assist with managing and implementing a range of IT rollouts, upgrades, and projects
- Assist in delivery of projects as required by the IT Services Team Leader or IT Operations Manager
- Adhere to project management methodologies as set out by IT PMO
- Build specialist knowledge of Study Group’s applications.
- Document and share knowledge and best practise with other IT staff.
- Identify trends in application supports and recommend remedial action to address the trending topics and areas, continually improving the user experience and increasing the efficiency of the app support function.
- Compliance to all relevant data protection, financial, taxation and legal requirements
- Compliance to all relevant education sector requirements
- Compliance to all Study Group policies and procedures

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least diploma level IT qualified or equivalent experience.
- Experience in application or IT support roles
- Experience using service desk tools and processes
- Experience gathering and presenting detailed information
- Proven effective and timely decision making and judgement.
- Excellent communication, customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Experiencing in dealing with customers/end users
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Good self-knowledge having the propensity to analyse successes and failures and determine areas for improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationship with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience in using Salesforce would be advantageous.
