Salary: Up to €52.01 per hour 

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our team at the Dublin International Study Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously planning and delivering effective programs designed to prepare international students for Level 1 undergraduate study at the prestigious University College Dublin (UCD). Your key mission is to provide unwavering support to students, enabling them to meet and exceed the progression requirements necessary for a successful academic journey.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • Plan appropriate, effective and inclusive learning programmes  through schemes of work that take into account the diversity
  • Plan teaching sessions which accommodate individualised learning using a variety of resources, including digital learning
  • Ensure a broad range of learning materials are available on the VLE for students to access and engage with, including self-directed tasks and activities that facilitate feedback and interaction
  • Apply the principles of learning and teaching to provide learning activities to meet curriculum requirements and the needs of all students
  • Select the relevant learning approaches and skill development to ensure students’ progress
  • Contribute to the provision of a stimulating learning environment whilst adhering to the Centres’ Health and Safety procedures
  • Apply the theories and principles of assessment including initial, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students to enable them to improve and achieve their qualifications
  • Write summative assessments which appropriately measure the achievement of the learning outcomes of the programmes (including repeat assessments)
  • Prepare students for summative assessment through revision sessions and practice assessments
  • Engage in moderation of assessment materials and student work, including double marking, thorough and timely preparation of all relevant documentation for the external examiners, and participation in module assessment boards
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to lapses in student attendance, punctuality, behaviour and application to their studies by individual conversations with students, referrals to personal tutors or referrals to professional services
  • Support students to progress to the University by being proactive in liaising with University Schools and link tutors
  • Demonstrate and update subject specialist knowledge to ensure the currency of specialist teaching
  • Engage in professional development to improve teaching and learning practice, and update subject specialist knowledge
  • Work as part of the academic team to produce and develop an exciting curriculum for students
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses.

ABOUT YOU 

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business with accounting (or related area) or professional qualifications and experience (essential)
  • A relevant teaching qualification (desirable)
  • Experience of teaching in the Higher or Further Education sectors or of Leaving Certificate (Hons)/A-level (essential)
  • Experience of working with international students (desirable)
  • Competence in Microsoft applications
  • Competence in using VLE platforms
