The Innovation Operations Officer supports the effective day-to-day operation of the Innovation directorate. You will work closely with colleagues in our digital programmes and product operation functions. You will also engage with the wider Education and Innovation Directorate, and cross-functional teams to carry out core operational activities, update key datasets, support governance administration, and keep shared drives and documentation up to date, enabling the Innovation directorate to operate efficiently. 

This opportunity can also be offered as a job share on a 0.5 contract. Please indicate in your application if you would like to be considered for this option.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Update trackers, dashboards and routine reporting inputs. 
  • Apply approved updates to key operational datasets, including intake dates, ensuring accuracy and auditability. 
  • Highlight data inconsistencies, resolve straightforward issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately. 
  • Provide administrative support for governance activity, including maintaining records, actions and documentation. 
  • Keep shared folders, systems and documentation organised and easy to navigate, following agreed standards and templates. 
  • Support routine timetabling, reporting cycles, data housekeeping and system updates. 
  • Respond to day-to-day operational queries and requests, escalating where required. 
  • Contribute practical suggestions to improve templates, guidance and ways of working. 
ABOUT YOU  
  • Experience in an administrative, operational support, coordination or data-focused role, with responsibility for maintaining accurate records, datasets or documentation. 
  • Experience working across teams, managing multiple tasks or priorities, and following defined processes or standards. 
  • Experience using digital workplace tools (e.g. Excel, SharePoint, collaboration platforms) to organise information and support day-to-day operations. 
  • Good working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet tools. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to organise information clearly and maintain structured records. 
  • Comfortable working with systems, templates and standard ways of working. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
