Cardiff International Study Centre (ISC) is an exciting development, which launched in September 2020.  You would be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching, and assessment through a developmental approach, which will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities.  

The purpose of this role is to plan and distribute timetables to students and centre staff, oversee data systems and provide management information.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Manage the scheduling of classes, progression support sessions, and related events using specialized software, collaborating with academic staff for coordination.
  • Coordinate with university departments to book appropriate rooms for ISC activities and events, including external bookings.
  • Organise the distribution of timetables to tutors and students, ensuring up-to-date versions are displayed on notice boards.
  • Update the system for short-term timetable changes and ensure accurate allocation of tutors to sessions.
  • Ensure students are correctly allocated to classes in the electronic register system and maintain accurate classing data.
  • Ensure timely upload and updating of data for attendance authorization and class cancellations.
  • Stay updated on best practices related to data collection and analysis, fostering relationships with key partners in Cardiff University.
  • Support students and staff with timetable-related queries and problems, including monitoring student usage of digital resources.
  • Collect and analyse data and feedback from various sources to contribute to continuous enhancement strategies and annual monitoring reports.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Essential)
  • Experience in timetabling software, databases and data input (Essential)
  • Experience working within an educational environment (Desirable)
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office) including the ability to create and use spreadsheets at a highly proficient level (Essential)
