Location: Teesside, Teesside International Study Centre

Salary: £38.27 per hour

Teaching small classes of international students studying on our Undergraduate Foundation Programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work in an autonomous environment where student-centred, innovative, lessons are encouraged. You'll be an experienced Science tutor with the capability of teaching Chemistry, and, depending on experience and qualifications, Biology.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Delivering modules (through teaching) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
  • Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking, and providing feedback to students, including re-sit examinations.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE) and facilitating student access.
  • Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance
  • Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
  • Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
ABOUT YOU
  • Master’s degree in a related subject. (essential)
  • Minimum first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject. (essential)
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry to a minimum of Level 3.
